Enjoy a full day in Dien Bien Phu as you visit the famous battlefields. The battlefield in Dien Bien Phu was the place where the French intended to bait the Viet Minh into entering the valley. The French used 16,000 troops to lure the Vietnamese forces. The Viet Minh had a trump card, General Vo Nguyen Giap. General Giap was able to flank the valley with artillery to counter the French. The artillery assault lasted from March to May 1954 leading to the capitulation of the French after losing 3,000 men.
On the other hand, the Viet Minh lost more than twice the number of the losses that the French incurred. Later in the tour, you will get to visit the headquarters of General Giap during the Dien Bien Phu conflict. The tour is not only about the war, you will also experience different kinds of culture among the ethnic minorities such as the H’mong and Thai villages.
