Day 1: Nha Trang Private Countryside visit
Today our tour guide will collect you at Oceanographic Inst, then visit an important place for tropical oceanic research, before visiting Long Son Pagoda, originally founded in the late 19th century, with its ornately decorated entrance and roof tops that glisten with mosaic dragons made from glass and ceramic tiles. The more energetic can climb the 154 stone steps to a gleaming white giant Buddha statue and those who do will be rewarded with panoramic views of the city. Continue to bustling Dam market, with its colourful selection of local produce. Fruit, vegetables and seafood are the most common items on display but you may also see dried seahorses and lizards - popular local specialities!
Lunch at a local restaurant.
North of the town centre, four Cham Towers, built between the 7th and 12th centuries, are still used as a place of worship by ethnic Chinese, Cham and Vietnamese Buddhists. Crossing Xom Bong Bridge below the towers, scores of brightly coloured fishing boats can be seen jostling for space in the harbour - an engaging and photogenic sight against a typically azure sky. Then we drive back the pier.Departures (local time)
